When Spring Break Becomes Spring Wedding Season

…And Spring Allergy Season.

Sneezing as I write this.

It’s the second week of March and my city of Fort Lauderdale is being invaded by Spring Breakers. Traffic is nuts, basically can’t use the beach for the next four weeks, and my Starbucks Drive-thru lines are 20-cars long. It’s a mess. And while I used to miss being one of them, I can’t say that I really care anymore. In my mid-late 20’s, it seems like Spring Break has been replaced with Spring Wedding Season. And if you’ve ever been to one, you already know there’s a good chance weddings are way better. #AdultPerks

Just wrapped up my second stint as a bridesmaid in a span of 3-ish months and it was a blast! While the wedding party was probably the worst combination to ever have together in a church with our potty mouths (those of you that know me, know I cannot control it no matter how hard I try), it was a pretty hilarious group that I love SO much. It’s always fun to be reunited with friends that are like family. We’ve all known each other for at least 15 years! Between middle school dances, high school and college graduations, holidays – to now watching each other get married – it’s pretty nuts to think about how much you’ve experienced growing up together. And the best is, no matter how long you go without seeing each other, there’s no effort to put in. You can always pick up where you left off.

The Power of Etsy

As a bridesmaid twice over, and what seems like a wedding guest every other month since I hit 26 – I have to say, if you’re in the wedding game, Etsy is the spot. Whether it’s a Save the Date stage, Bridal Shower, Bachelorette Party, what have you – there are SO many cute grabs you can get for theme decor, party favors, or even small gifts for your bridesmaids.

As if I wasn’t obsessed with personalized everything to begin with, I now have a growing collection of pendants with my initials on them from being in weddings, costume jewelry given to me by the bride for the day of the event, silk(ish) robes, and a lot of bridal shower decorations I will probably never use again.

Another marketing insider pro-tip: I also grab a lot of party favors for props for my brand photoshoots over on Etsy. Quick and easy delivery — and you’re guaranteed to find something eye-catching for a good price. Definitely give it a shot if you’re in the market to up your content marketing game if you haven’t already – and Happy Wedding Season!
