Summer Sale Roundup

Summer Sale Roundup | Designer Tops, Dresses, Shoes, & Accessories for Summer } Fashion & Lifestyle Blog | Biz & Brunch

With Memorial Day Weekend here, it’s officially the start of Summer! Coming fresh off a post this week about my recent health kick, I figured why not reward myself with some new duds? And on sale! From my favorite store (hi, Nordstrom)! Given all of the misery I’ve gone through barely being able to eat anything with flavor, I figure, I earned it. Right? Right!

The sale

As everyone in my personal life knows, I am obsessed with Nordstrom. The Half-Yearly Sale and the N Sale, I live for. Major fangirl. And I am clearly not the only one!

SEVEN items sold out in 20 minutes of me listing all of these and sourcing the direct links. On a Friday afternoon! THREE were sold out in-between me just ordering for myself. Because of that, I didn’t include those in this roundup because I want to provide you gals with what is actually available! Apologies in advance if any of these picks sold out yet again.

If this gives you any indicator to act fast on this sale, I STRONGLY recommend you do so! Lol

Reasons why you’ll love this roundup

1) Almost all of my picks are under $50 (girlfriends, I am on a BUDGET) – and if anything is over, it was marked down at least 40% off aaaand it’s a reputable brand ( you get what you pay for – so you know if I picked it, it is definitely a bargain!)

2) It’s organized! Everything is sectioned by Jackets & Tops, Dresses, Shoes, and Accessories. Images are big and easy to scroll through so you know what area you’re in! The link and the image will each take you to the item.

3) If something does happen to be sold out by the time this post goes live, you’ll see the recommendations on the right side bar of Nordstrom that consists of similar items! So it’s not a total bust! 🙂

With that said, below were my top picks from the best brands; most of which I ordered also! I’ll do a follow-up on as to how each one panned out!

Jackets & Tops

Jacket

LOVED this summery print on this leather jacket! Perfect for traveling and those cooler Spring/Summer days.

Off the Shoulder Blouse

Perfect for a casual weekend afternoon. Pair with some shorts this summer, and I’m all in.
icon
icon

Tie Strap Tank

I’m really loving gingham this year, which is ironic because I couldn’t stand it as a kid. If this was in red gingham, I’d be all over it. Definitely a necessary print this season.

Off the Shoulder Bodysuit

I’m not big on bodysuits, but I love how transitional this one can be. It has more of a dressed up versatility than most tank bodysuits you’ll find out there, which are usually basic pieces. …And it’s Topshop. You can’t go wrong with Topshop.

icon

Ruffle Sleeve Sweater

Bought this before the sale and LOVE it. Also noticed it performed really well on Instagram. This had a negative review and I don’t understand why. It’s exactly as marketed and I loved it. Just a little on the hotter side (it’s a thick sweater, which is a plus because you can take it into fall!).
icon
icon

Off the Shoulder Top

LOVED this top and how it was paired with these bathing suit bottoms. No idea when you’ll ever feel the need to belt your swimwear bottoms with this top… but throw a pair of denim in the mix and again, I’m all in.
icon
icon

Loose Tee

A Free People find. I have a few tops like this that are similar, and they always go well with a skinny pair of jeans.
icon
icon

Swing Blouse

Versatility is everything! I opted to buy this top (not sure how it’ll fit until it comes in), but I can already pair it with skirts, dress shorts, cut-off shorts, and all of the skinny jeans in my closet. I’m always on the hunt for different styles of white tops for this reason!

icon

Off the Shoulder Top

Another white top, and it’s off-the-shoulder. No explanation needed.
icon
icon

Bell Sleeve Top

Similar to the above top, but this one actually comes in 3 colors(!). White was sold out, but I LOVE the bell sleeves. I also ordered this top, but I’m petite and it may be a little overwhelming… so we’ll see how it fits!

Dresses

Crochet Sleeve Wrap Dress

I actually tried this on in the dressing room a few weeks back and fell in LOVE with it. The original price tag was out of my budget and I had to make some sacrifices (opted for the two piece set in this post instead). It’s still beautiful and can fit all shapes and sizes (true wrap dress w/ adjustable ties).

icon

High/Low Dress

I love solid basic pieces, and I’m all about edgier dresses with unique cuts. At 27, it’s easier to throw on a trendy dress and look age appropriate, than wearing cut-off shorts which may dress an outfit down…and make me look like I’m heading to my college’s Spring Break. The back on this piece is also to-die!

Off the Shoulder Dress

Summer. Dress. Stark white. I think you know my style by now. Loved this seer-sucker find.

Wrap Dress

If I was still in the corporate world, this is a dress I’d wear all the time. What I love is that you can dress it up or down to make it casual. Cognac booties for the weekend, black sandal heels for work. *thumbs up emoji which I can’t provide to you in this blog interface*

icon

Midi Dress

Add a cognac leather belt and you’re in business. LOVE this dress. It is basically Summer 2017 in a nutshell. If adding a jacket, I’d pair this with a denim, anorak, or a cognac faux leather (this one is marked down 40% off and also a part of the sale!).
icon
icon

Skater Dress

1) It’s mock neck (another recent obsession over the last couple of years); 2) Bell sleeves; 3) Again, versatility! “Will I be able to wear this in the Fall?” Check. Ordered, on its way next week. The model paired this with a red plaid and I was loving it. Chose this pic because the body style of the dress was kinda obstructed on the site (even directing photoshoots myself, it is one of my pet peeves – please don’t cover the product! lol)!

Shoes

Cognac Bootie

If you know me at all, you know I wear booties at least 4 out of the 7 days of the week. lol I needed a perfect shade of cognac for my growing collection of denim (especially with Fall coming up). I was waiting to find the right pair since my favorite Nordstrom Trolley bootie is no longer available in this color (have lived by the Grey Leather for over two years – they’re still available and can do no wrong) – and I’m pretty sure this is it! Also on their way next week.

icon

Open Toe Bootie

Please see above. Also, love this color as a new neutral because you know it can be paired with anything (namely my black Paige skinny’s).
icon
icon

Ballet Flat

If I’m not wearing booties? Ballet flats. All day. When I was in corporate, wearing ballet flats for business trips in the city came in clutch. Love this neutral color for casual and workwear.
icon
icon

Sandals

I’m a sucker for these. Love the red color for Fall!
icon
icon

Hi-Tops

I love a good pair of Chuck Taylors. Even at 27. These are super cute for summer and any festivals you can make it to.
icon
icon

Cognac Lace Up Flats

Another solid pair of flats. And everyone knows my obsession for cognac. I also love that this style is still popular after 3 years! Definitely an investment (and marked down give that it is on this list) if you don’t have a pair already!
icon
icon

Sneakers

Another pair of Chucks in a neutral color. Loooove it.
icon
icon

Accessories

Sunglasses

This style is very 2016/2017 and I think it may be here to stay. I actually love the tortoise shell blend available in these, definitely ones to check out. And the best part is they’re under $45 right now.
icon
icon

Leather Tote

If you don’t have a leather cognac tote in rotation, now is the time to grab one! I already have one so it took everything in me not to order this one because it’s the perfect minimalistic style! But I obviously had to recommend it because it’s a great find! Marked down 40% and coming in at under $40… Yes, please.
icon
icon

Workout Pants

Again with the activewear! Under $35 and you can never go wrong with Nike.
icon
icon

Swimwear Cover-Up

Love this mini-length coverup! Very light and breezy, easy to pack for a weekend trip. It’s also white, so it’ll match all of your suits. Think purpose, peeps!
icon
icon

Retro Sunglasses

So I definitely ordered these because I am that girl that loses and/or breaks sunglasses within 3 months of having them. It’s rare that I invest in designer ones at this point (though I’ve had this pair of Raybans for two years strong…for now!) This pair is under $15 and I needed a set in black so it worked out perfectly.
icon
icon

Red Bandana

So everyone is doing the neckerchief thing right now… but I’m all about the headband. If this can fit my big head, it’s happening. Ordered this and because it was just over $5 (was originally $12 in-store pre-sale).
